Mr. Pedreira brings over 35 years of experience in global financial markets, including 25 years as a portfolio manager and 30 years directly involved in trading and risk management. He was the architect of the EC Family Office structure, responsible for providing investment guidance and sourcing investment products across asset classes and geographies.
Prior to founding Waypoint Wealth Advisors, Mr. Pedreira was a partner and co-founder of Waypoint Asset Management, Forum Asset Management and Forum Capital Management — investment management firms specializing in global emerging markets. He built and managed portfolios across the full emerging markets universe, developing deep expertise in markets that demand rigorous risk discipline and unconventional thinking.
Previously, he was a partner at Columbus Group, where he served as portfolio manager to the Columbus Venezuela Fund and the Columbus Emerging Opportunities Fund — mandates requiring both technical precision and sound qualitative judgment in complex, volatile environments.
Mr. Pedreira spent eight years at Merrill Lynch as a Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets Trading in New York — one of the most demanding institutional roles in fixed income and currency markets. He began his professional career at Citibank, where he held positions across multiple areas of the bank in various locations worldwide, building a truly global foundation.
